I read in the Cape Times (www.iol.co.za) that the Rabbinical Council of America  has ruled that Rabbis no longer use their mouths to such the blood from the 8-day old boy’s penis during circumcision, but a plastic tube instead.

I’ve witnessed my fair share of Bris rituals but had deeply forgotten about the sucking the blood part which, now prompted, makes me remember why I like fellatio so.   

Talk about mixed messages. First they scar us for life by cutting off the tip of our penises then make us yearn for the warm comfort of lips around our member. If the stand-up comics are to be believed, Jewish women hate giving blow jobs which further perpetuates a cycle of punishment and reward and the power arising from withholding the reward.

If there is any outcry to the modernization of this ancient practice, I hear it coming from women. Jewish husbands two decades from now may no longer have to wield their Gold Card to get their wives to go down on them. With the first memory of pleasure after the pain removed, this may indeed bring equality between Jewish husband and wife.
