Lekgotla

Sandton’s new meeting spot

Like the meeting between Ernst Fischer, The Butcher Shop’s Alan Pick and the Kunene Bros, Lekgotla, – the meeting place, is also a melting pot of Africa’s cuisines. Perhaps even more stylish than Moyo, Lekgotla is already attracting the well-heeled business folk. Splendid service begins with vanilla-scented ritual hand washing while the menu reflects the continent’s diversity. The Salade de Cocombres et de Courgettes e Alco with Shayva (lamb kebab), Baked butternut Tagine with dhaal rice and tofu fritters and the Entrecote with peppered chakalaka served with yellow cilantro maize dumplings are recommended. Glorious dining spaces include outside mist-cooled Zulu bomas, sunken seating around a king’s table and afro-chic tables and chairs for more conventional tastes. A glorious cocktail bar is set to be Sandton’s new hot spot.

Lekgotla, Shop L10, Sandton City, Johannesburg. 011-883-9555.
